Booneville, KY – Woodrow Murrell, Jr., age 68, and widower of Georgia (Creech) Murrell passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Owsley County Health Care Center in Booneville, KY. Woodrow was born in Lerose, Owsley County, KY, a son of the late Woodrow and Jaylee (Barrett) Murrell. He was a former coal miner and construction worker, and he was associated with the Ida Mae Bible Church in Beattyville, KY. He is survived by 2 sons; Dayle (Donnie) Murrell and Woodrow III (Angie) Murrell both of Booneville, KY, 4 daughters; Linda (Freddie) Creech of Beattyville, KY, Rhonda Arnold (Tommy Mays) of Richmond, KY, Patty Davidson of Manchester, KY and Brenda “Sissy” Smith of Booneville, KY, 3 brothers; John Murrell of Thornton, OH, Freddie Murrell of Lexington, KY, and Kenneth Murrell of Booneville, KY, 2 sisters; Doris Harrison of Thornton, OH, and Addie Johnson of Booneville, KY, 16 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, special friends Berneace and Greg Herald, along with many other loving family members and friends. Woodrow was preceded in death by his loving wife of 28 years, his parents, 1 brother; Bobby Murrell, and 1 sister; Beulah Harrison. Funeral Services will be held at the Booneville Funeral Home, Booneville, KY at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 4, 2012 with Pastor Garett Thomas officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 4, 2012 from 11:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Woodrow will be laid to rest next to his wife in the Oliver – Creech Family Cemetery located in the Green Hall Community of Owsley County, KY.
