Booneville - Thelma (Caudill) Cooper, age 83, widow of Clarence Cooper, passed away peacefully, Monday, October 10, 2011 at the Hospice Unit of the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Thelma was born in Booneville, Owsley County, Kentucky, on December 28, 1927, a daughter of the late Oliver and Rodha (Keller) Caudill. She was a homemaker, a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness Church, in Beattyville, KY, an excellent quilter and crafting corn shuck dolls with many of her crafts on display at the Fireside Crafts Center in Owsley County. She is survived by 4 daughters; Brenda Jackson and Wanda Murrell, both of Booneville, KY, Glenda (David) Nichols, Sue (Larry) Delaney, both of Versailles, KY, 1 son; Phillip Cooper of Booneville, KY, 1 son in law; Hugh Moore of Booneville, KY, 1 daughter in law; Lucy Cooper of Versailles, KY, 3 brothers; Arnold Caudill and Dean Caudill, both of Beattyville, KY, Herschel Caudill of Stanton, KY, Herbert Caudill of Campbellsville, KY, 2 sisters; Carrie Reed of Booneville, KY, Cleda Shoemaker of Beattyville, KY, 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, family members, and friends. Thelma was preceded in death by her parents and husband, 1 daughter; Linda Moore, 2 sons; Denton Cooper and Denzil Cooper, 2 son in laws; Edd Jackson, and Roger Murrell. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 11:00 AM at The Booneville Funeral Home with Pastor Arnold Caudill officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at The Booneville Funeral Home. Thelma will be laid to rest next to her husband at Shepherd Memorial Cemetery in Booneville, KY.
