Booneville, KY- Ollie Reed Turner, 87, of Lexington, departed this earth on September 16, 2017 at St. Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. She was born in Owsley County, Kentucky on February 21, 1930, and spent most of her life living in Booneville and Beattyville, Kentucky. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, Ollie loved gardening and preserving food, spending time with her family and friends, and worshipping the Lord Jesus Christ. She was admired for her strength, kindness, and generosity towards everyone who knew her. Ollie is survived by her three daughters Jennia Ruth (Stan) Stringer of Florence, Kentucky, Geraldine Sipple of Lexington, Kentucky, and Betty (Tom) Harsley of Florence, Kentucky; six grandchildren Dyna Wilson, Shawn Porter, Susan Schumacher, Angie Kuhl, Savannah Sipple, and Jericho Sipple; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Eugene (Ethel) Reed; and two sisters, Alice Fox and Ailene McIntosh of Booneville, Kentucky. Ollie was preceeded in death by her husband Jerry Turner; one son Gentry Turner; four brothers Junior Reed, Gentry Reed, Bill Reed, and Fred Reed; her sister Ella Faye Mays; grandson David Gilbert; and great grandson Evan Scherpenberg. Services will be held at the Booneville Funeral Home in Booneville, Kentucky, with visitation on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 6-8pm and the funeral on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 11am. Pallbearers include Shawn Porter, Jericho Sipple, Brandon Porter, Caleb Wilson, Dustin Wilson, Stan Stringer, Jimmy Ray Reed, and Billy Joe Reed. Honorary pallbearers are Dave Mays and Jack McIntosh.
