Waco, KY – Irene Brandenburg Johnson, age 78; wife of Ova Lee Johnson, formerly of Lee County, KY, passed away Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Baptist Health Hospital in Richmond, KY. Irene was born in Lee County, KY, a daughter of the late Potter and Emaline Brandenburg. She was a member of the United Pentecostal Church in Michigan and associated with the Church of God. She is survived by her husband and 2 daughters; Brenda S. (Mark) Stager of Lexington, KY, Sandra K. (William J.) Sherman of West Bloomfield, MI; 4 Sisters; Imogene (Dormalee) Osbourne of Richmond, KY, Corene Allen of Booneville, KY, Lorene (Bruce) Gibson of Booneville, KY, Wavelene (Charles) Brewer of Canyon Falls, KY, 5 grandchildren; Michael, Nathaniel, Joshua, Chelsea Stager, and Samantha Mooney; 1 great grandchild; Colton Donovan Mooney along with many other loving family members and friends. Irene was preceded in death by her parents and 5 brothers, Ance, Otis, Coleman, Willard, and Wallace Brandenburg. Funeral Services will be held at the Booneville Funeral Home, Booneville, KY at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 30 2012 with Pastor Garett Thomas officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, October 29, 2012 from 3:00 PM – 6:00PM at the funeral home. Irene will be laid to rest at the Potter Brandenburg Cemetery in Lee County, KY.
