BOONEVILLE - Elmer Ray Peters, age 75, passed away Friday, August 20, 2010 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, KY. Elmer was born in Conkling, Kentucky on August 2, 1935, the son of the late Butler and Ada (Hill) Peters. He was a retired State Highway employee, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Booneville. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Minnie Frances (Cole) Peters of Winchester, KY, 4 sons, Leonard (Sue) Wilson, Lucian (Carolyn) Wilson, both of Jeffersonville, KY, Virgil (Maureen) Wilson of Belleville, MI, and Lloyd Wilson of Taylor, MI. 3 daughters, Janet S. (Harold) Oaks of Canton, MI, Joyce Ann (Lawerence) Anders of Douglasville, GA, and Phyllis (Delmer) Johnson of Booneville, KY., 24 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 brother, Edgar Peters, and 3 sisters, Dessie Peters, Bessie Peters, and Edna Peters. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 24th, 2010 at 2:00 PM, at the Booneville Funeral Home, with Pastor Jerry Lacefield officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 - 9:00 PM Monday, August 23rd, 2010. Burial in the Bowman Cemetery, Booneville, KY, with the Booneville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
