Booneville, KY – Clay Jackson “CJ” Dooley, age 86, husband of the late Beatrice (Baker) Dooley, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Fayette County, KY. CJ was born in Booneville, Owsley County, KY on October 14, 1925 a son of the late Willie and Nellie (Jackson) Dooley. He was a retired teacher working within the Middle Kentucky River Area, a veteran of the US Navy, a member of the Booneville Masonic Lodge 939 and the Beattyville VFW Post 11296. CJ was also a member of the Booneville United Methodist church. He is survived by 1 son; William (Elaine) Dooley of High Springs, FL, 1 daughter; Julia Lynette "Lynn"(Dr. Jeff) Stinson of Lexington,KY, 1 grandson; Braden Clay Stinson of Lexington, KY, 1 sister; Elora Stewart of Miamisburg, OH and many other loving family members and friends. Along with his parents and loving wife, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Ollie and Herman Dooley and 1 sister; Verna Evans. Funeral Services will be held at the Booneville Funeral Home, Booneville, KY at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 with Rev. J. Jameson Brunk officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at the Booneville Funeral Home, Booneville, KY. CJ will be laid to rest in the Dooley Cemetery located in the Scoville community of Owsley County. The family ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Booneville United Methodist Church.
